Among the Painter’s infancy memories, the places where he was used to spend the summer holidays are the deepest in his mind. The Artist remembers with extreme precision the basin of a typical farm in Lombardy, that is described in this painting with tone-sur-tone colours like the blue of water tightly related to the grey, the colour typically used to describe memories. The Realistic pictorial technique and the subject taken from the daily life are mixed together in a photographic view of mind, that allows the composition to be fixed and stable.
